Building bridges with Native American community

In August 2007, the Custer Lutheran Fellowship Church teamed with the Turtle Island Project in Michigan to put on a free benefit concert that raised money for the White Buffalo Calf Womans Society in Mission SD, that serves the Rosebud Lakota Reservation. A national news reporter called the event an historic big step toward improving races relations between the white and Native American communities. The church pastor and its congregation are dedicated to building bridges and healing old woundes.
